Lead Engineer Modeling (m/f/d)

Your contribution:

We are seeking a highly skilled Modeling Engineer to join our team and lead pursuit engineering activities for our automotive energy solutions. This customer-facing role requires a dynamic individual with experience in complex systems and the ability to manage multiple projects and customers simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities: What you will do

• Support pursuit engineering activities for automotive low voltage Lithium Ion batteries, Sodium Ion batteries, and super capacitors.
• Collaborate with automotive customers to understand their requirements and provide tailored modeling solutions.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of modeling solutions.
• Conduct system-level analysis, modeling, and simulations to ensure compliance with customer requirements and automotive standards.
• Work closely with the cell team to develop systems level models to analyze systems performance and life requirements.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers from early customer engagement through project award.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: What we look for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience in modeling engineering, particularly in the automotive industry.
• Strong understanding of low voltage Lithium Ion batteries, Sodium Ion batteries, and super capacitors.
• Advanced experience with Python and or Matlab, as well as at least one 1D modeling like Simscape, Amesim, Dymola, or similar.
• Experience with 3D modeling tools (Ansys, LS-Dyna, Abaqus, StarCCM+) preferred.
• Experience with complex systems and automotive customers.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
• Knowledge of automotive standards and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Fluent in both German and English
